As Logico’s 2016 bursary winner, design star Sinomonde Ngwane conducted her compulsory work experience within our in-house studio, flexing her creative muscles on a variety of elements.

After her impressive short run – which included an extraordinarily designed under-the-sea themed photo frame for an outdoor promotion – Sinomonde was offered a position at Logico.

“Working here has been great. I’ve learned a lot and feel like I am a part of a team of people with the same vision,” she said.

Sinomonde’s resume includes publication of her work in a range of media such as Between 10 and 5, City Press and Conte Magazine.

She has already cemented her spot as an illustrator within the industry, creating artwork for fashion brand Superbalist and illustrating two books for Bookdash.

These books, sponsored by Woolworths, have since been translated into different South African languages and distributed to underprivileged schools in South Africa.

Come May, Sinomonde will be featured on BBC Africa’s Africa Business Report, for her collaborative work – the creation of an adult colouring book – with UK-based illustrator, Jodie Goolding.

Sinomonde is determined to absorb as much as she can in order to reach her goal of one day becoming “an Art director and mentor to young creatives in South Africa and the African diaspora.”

“Logico has given me the chance to design and work for big brands such as uShaka Marine World, Transnet, SAB and more, under the mentorship of my seniors who have lots of experience in this industry. I am constantly being taught, mentored and challenged to push boundaries. My experience at Logico has given me a better perspective of what the graphic design industry is like and a better understanding of what is expected from a graphic designer.”
